Potato condo
Theresa Loe at Garden Fresh Living sent me the heads up on this potato box that you build as you grow. She says the idea is to build a wooden box, plant the potatoes on the bottom layer, then add the wood slats and soil as it grows.
Chuck, are you paying attention?
The box provides maximum yield in a small space because the plant develops potatoes all along the stem. And Theresa says, the bonus is you can snitch a few potatoes from the bottom while the plant keeps growing upwards.
Theresa didn’t want her box to look brand new, so she weathered the wood before she started. Read detailed instructions here and beware you might get lost in her great gardening posts.
