And sewing my own with weather-proof fabrics that can start as high as $80 per yard is frankly a little frightening. Then I thought of flat white sheets. A no-brainer since they�re flat, they�re white, they wash like a dream. Interesting though, that flat white sheets aren�t as easy to find as you might think. Sets are what the bed and bath stores put on sale. And single sheets in the 600-thread count Egyptian cotton class wouldn�t save me much money over the real deal. Enter hospital sheets at $80. a dozen. Twelve flat, white cotton sheets already hemmed on the bottom and finished on both sides are just the ticket for cheapskate drapes that should last at a summer, maybe two.
