I’ve got the milkweed blooming strong, I’ve got the monarchs passing through, and nothing…</p> <p>Then the other day I heard someone say in casual conversation to someone else, “Blah de blah de blah de blah <i>monarchs don’t lay eggs in the shade</i>.” </p> <p>That’s it! That’s my answer! I’ve got my butterfly plants tucked towards the back of the garden under tall shade trees.
