Do it this weekend - raised beds
I never met a plant that didn’t like living in a raised bed. It’s the drainage. Plants can get a little or a lot of water, but they will never have to sit in soggy soil.
The late Flo Ota De Lange of Fountain Valley created these dry-stacked stone walls in two tiers with Bouquet Canyon flagstones loosely laid and backfilled with a rich dark loam.
The conifers, Japanese maples and Scotch moss look plenty content.
