Time to shop for tulips

If you want the plumpest bulbs in the bin, not the picked over sorts with mixed up colors, shop pretty quick, especially for bulbs that need a chill.

Some bulbs such as tulip and hyacinth will want to lay low in the fridge for 6 weeks or so before they go into the ground. Don’t mix them with apples. Don’t let the kids eat them for lunch. Buy now - plant in mid-November.

The Sun— Our gardening brethren in old Britain are experiencing a “bumper summer for spiders.” Seems they had a dry/hot summer. Welcome to our world. Orb weaver anyone?
