October 13, 2009The ten minute terrarium
Rock stars of the garage sale set Linda Wary and John Meyers, she a graphic designer, he a display director for Anthropologie, and both authors of “Tossed and Found” put this pretty pickle jar terrarium up on their site.
The garden is built on the lid…pebbles first, then charcoal, then planted bits of lawn grass dirt included, moss and what nots. Instructions on their web site Warymeyers.com say to pop the jar on top and screw the lid down tight. But I wouldn’t.
You need to exchange the air in a terrarium at least once a week by lifting the jar and letting the old air out and new air in. But a great idea for a possible temporary terrarium for parties and special occasions.
Click on the blog, lots of eye candy there for garage sale junkies.
