The buzz about Buffalograss

If you are absolutely sick and tired of the whole lawn routine but can’t bear to live without the green, think about Buffalograss, the lawn alternative that’s got everything going for it except the water bill. Oh, and you can lay off the lawn mower, too.

Developed in California, UC Verde Buffalograss lives on 12-inches of water per year—a 75-percent reduction of your current use.

And you don’t have to do much to get it going either—kill off the old grass (but don’t dig it up), plug in your Buffalograss plugs (you can’t start it from seed or sod), water until it is established, mow it once in a while and not at all in the winter.
