String gardens

Not sure what your first impression of the new String Garden fad is, but for me the word “rescue” comes to mind. Could a plant be any more miserable than this?

whatever
CourierMail—Kids build treehouse. City tears down treehouse. Kids sue. Kids win to the the tune of $50,000. Yeah for kids and treehouses!

When I was little(a very long time ago) I had a rooftop city garden and planted beans ,which I trained on strings. It was a lot of fun and started me on a long path of loving gardening.

a haiku of wondering why:

beans on strings make sense.
osteospermum or grass

Hi Cindy,

I beg to differ with Gertrude (your quote)—I’ve heard that magenta is the color of True Love. Here’s a post I did about Gertrude’s namesake. http://www.rosenotes.com/2009/06/rose-of-the-week-gertrude-jekyll.html

Your blog is darling. My friend Joanie sometimes forwards them to me—today I subscribed.

Hey All ~ I invite all interested in a wonderful hands-on symposium to attend the next Art of Gardening Symposium at Great Dixter in the UK put on by Fergus Garrett. It is truly worth attending.
