Speaking of arctotis

I spotted these while judging the California Friendly Landscape Contest—with a van full of nurserymen and designers I might add ... and no one knew the particular name. On the hunt for the pink, orange, yellow and peach blooming-all-at-once variety.

I love arctotis too!  I have about 7 different colors.  BUT they look terrible most of the year, and in order to have glorious displays like in your photo you MUST deadhead.  And so many blooms means so MANY blooms to deadhead.  Are they worth it?  Yes.

Arctotis Pink Sugar - Emerisa and Landscapes Unlimited always has it in stock.  I discovered it 2 years ago at Emerisa .

Could be Pink Sugar, and that’s my favorite one, though this picture looks a bit oranger.  Yes, deadheading, but also needs adequate water in my experience especially until firmly established.  Definitely worth the effort for daisy lovers like me.  Armstrong Growers grows this, but it’s seasonally available.
