Silly succulent names

As if succulents aren’t confusing enough. We know what we like, do we need to know what they’re called?

I do know that at the top of this pot is Euphorbia tirucalli ‘Sticks on Fire’ (you have to ask for red or you’ll wind up with the all-green one), but I was completely stumped about the succulent spilling out below.

I came close to an identification searching for Sedums, but didn’t quite find what we’re looking at here. I got a little closer with the Echeveria clan.

But it turns out this bronzed beauty is a hybrid of the two - a Sedeveria. Whatever! Might as well call it a Wackyeptia cause I won’t remember it anyway, specially when they’re making up new plant names all the time.

Update from an alert reader: Sedum nussbaumerianum (Coppertone Stonecrop)

Love the succulents. It’s the names I can’t keep up with.
