August 31, 2009Ron Vanderhoff goes celeb
Old friend, plant freak, avid horticulturist and nursery manager at Roger’s Gardens in Corona del Mar is interviewed by Frannie Sorin at Gardening Gone Wild. Gardening Gone Wild for the folks who don’t click much, is a group blog by garden notables Nancy Ondra, Saxon Holt, Steve Silk and Debra Lee Baldwin.
But it is all about Ron in this post where he talks about the controversial subject of California native plants. Here’s how nice Vanderhoff really is:
Sorin—If you could be a plant in another life time, what would it be?
Vanderhoff—Perhaps a California Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia), because it supports and even creates life for so many other living things: birds, mammals, insects, fungi, wildflowers and more.
whatever
St. Petersburg Times—Beekeeper’s house burns because firefighters get swarmed. Oh yeah, the bees were Africanized.
