Pssst! Can I interest you in a tomato seedling?

The crazy tomato seedling sales have begun. Two important things to know before you go pickin your plants:

Indeterminate type tomatoes can reach as high as 16-feet or more and flower and produce fruit on and off throughout the season. Most tomatoes are indeterminate types. Choose these if you want something for your drippy sandwiches throughout the summer season.

Determinate or bush tomatoes grow much smaller or to a pre-determined height and (this is worth noting) produce fruit all at once. Choose determinate tomatoes, say for example, if you want to set aside time to can your tomatoes or make sauce.

Which is which? Look on the label. It should say.
