Old Europe in the new world

Designer Paul Hendershot is doing some interesting things with his Ojai landscapes. Most notably, he is looking back at the old European school for the current California gardens he designs. Some of the classic ingredients for his elegant gardens are gravel, lavender, boxwood, fruit trees and iris, combined to make a scented experience that relies on little water, yet is big on style.
