Oh dear…

Just another reason to wear garden gloves - Legionnaire’s disease in the compost.

Turns out the moist, bacteria-happy, nutrient-rich compost pile is the perfect environment for Legionnella. And your thorn-scratched arms and bashed fingers are the perfect portal for the disease. 

Drat says this gloveless gardener!

Important comment on the gloves. We just take it for granted it wont happen to us. I even wear a mask when raking leaves to block spores. Saves me later.
Can beat those cheap gloves at HD that are dipped in rubber. I even wash them.
Wear you gloves, please.
