A bird bath works great especially for the spillers such as donkey tail and other hanging senecios. And a sealed pot in the middle of the arrangement can still provide water for the birdies.

It’s not my birdbath…but one I photographed on a garden tour in San Juan Capistrano. A hole would be good…I suppose if you pounded long enough or used a drill a hole could be had in something as thick as concrete.
