Using a peat moss based soil amendment such as the one suggested in the article is an environmentally poor decision.
Peat moss is not a sustainable product. All kinds of negative environmental events happen when the peat wet lands are drained and the material mined.
If you are concerned about the environment and your potting soil decomposing then there are other more sustainable soil amendments to use that won’t negatively impact the environment.
