Leucojum condundrum

We don’t grow snowdrops in the West too much, but we can grow leucojum, practically a look-alike and one of the earliest bloomers in the landscape.

What’s more, from a few bulbs come many as they multiply like mad in moist, shady spots. And they need no care. None. Zilch. Nothing.

Finding them is the hard part. Try Brent and Becky’s Bulbs or White Flower Farm

Oh, yay!  I’m so pleased to hear that they’ll multiply.

I love this plant.  The lady who owned my house before me planted some, and so lucky me I inherited it.  It is always in bloom on my birthday, even on the internet.

Boy, I wish I had got a mass of these with my house. I started with a small clump, and it would be very large by now, if I wasn’t giving them away all the time.

Roselyn M Arbuckle says:

I do not like this plant. The little bulbs come up everywhere. I can’t get rid of them and I don’t feel the tiny bloom is worth all the solid mess in my flower beds. I am a retired nurseryperson and there are so many other plants that are so much nicer.
