Air Quality Management District, Black & Decker electric mower, heirloom-hybrid tomatoes April 21, 2010

Lawn mower exchange

The Air Quality Management District has opened up its lawn mower exchange program today, letting Southern California residents swap their gas guzzlers for deeply discounted electric ones. For example, a $450 zero-emission Black & Decker 36-volt mower can be had for $165 if you turn in a “working” gas model.

You must register in advance online at South Coast Air Quality Management District, first come, first served or call 800-425-6247, and then plan to attend one of the swap events on the following dates with proof of residency:

The schedule is:
May 1 Palm Desert
May 8 Long Beach
May 15 Los Angeles
May 22 Inglewood
June 5 Riverside
June12 Rancho Cucamonga
June 19 Anaheim
June 26 Pasadena
July 10 Pomona
July 17 Santa Clarita
July 24 Pacoima

Comments

Lynne says:

I wonder if they realize Black & Decker products are now made in China? Sounds counter-productive to me, job-wise.
