Mary - I’m not sure you know about the Theodore Payne Foundation in Sun Valley, but every year (or at least this last year) they had garden tours that once you paid (a small fee), you were able to tour the yards of people who promote California native landscaping. Theodore Payne Foundation is a non-profit that promotes California native. Most of the homes I toured did not have lawns and had beautiful landscaping like this one you see in Tustin.
