Gutter greens

You don’t need a big lot to grow lettuce and other leafy vegetables. If you live some place, you’ve got a wall. And this from the Juneau Empire is a great idea for getting greens off the ground. Three rain gutters mounted on the sunniest side of the house provides enough planting space for a whole lotta stuff. It looks kinda cool, too. Can you imagine this with a succulent collection or filled with ferns and violets? That’s what I’m talking about….

This was spotted, by the way, on Fern’s Life on the Balcony blog, which you should definitely bookmark if you garden in teeny tiny spaces.
