Guest post: Meet Michael

Here’s a tip courtesy of Michael Nolan, The Garden Rockstar as part of his “Around the Blog in 31 Days” series:

Take a closer look at weeds.  I’ve identified at least a dozen native flowering species in my own yard, several of which are useful both as edibles and medicinals. 

Dandelions get a lot of bad press and yet gourmet restaurants turn the young, tender leaves into expensive salads. The flower petals can be fried, used to make an edible dye and even turned into jelly.
