Getting color in your Snow Bush

I finally figured something out about Snow Bush (Breynia disticha). It’s not so much how much sun or shade the plant gets (although it does prefer a tad of both), or how much water it gets (it likes a moist soil, but I let mine dry out), it’s the pruning that gives it its unusual leaf colors of green, white and pink on the same plant.

It took me awhile to discover that the new growth that pops out after pruning provides the plant with the pretty leaves that made me buy it in the first place. What’d it take? Four years to figure it out?
