Sue Grafton garden June 5, 2014

G is for Garden

And all this time we thought we knew the real Sue Grafton after her alphabet soup of private eye novels based in “Santa Barbara.” After all Kinsey Millhone lives in a garage apartment, devours junk food, jogs on the beach, and the closest she gets to nature is when she trots through the backyard of her adorable landlord, Henry.

It turns out that Grafton, however, lives on a 1912 estate in Kentucky with a landscape designed by John Olmsted. It’s all there - the camellia garden, boxwood hedges, hostas and ferns, including an all-organic edible garden.

I love Sue Grafton.  I didn’t know about her lovely home and garden.  Thanks for sharing.

Sue Grafton is a long time favorite., as is yard and garden work, always a continuing project. I’m so glad to hear a favorite author likes some of the same things I like.
