Favorite soil amendment - rice hulls

Rice hulls are my favorite soil amendment, breaking up clay beautifully and adding bulk to sandy soil. I remember a time when I could buy rice hulls by the bag and wrote an article about it in the Orange County Register. And then my phone rang and rang.
Turns out you can buy rice hulls in bulk at tack and feed stores where animal people use it as bedding in stalls. Thought you’d like to know - rice hulls now appearing at a feed store near you.
