Encourage garden TV

As you know, there is not much garden TV going on unless you watch Victory Garden and P. Allen Smith in the weird hours. And there ain’t no G at HGTV, that’s for sure.

Our fellow gardener Theresa Loe at Gardenfreshliving.com has just wrapped a new show for PBS with Joe Lamp’l, Patti Moreno and Nathan Lyon called Growing a Greener World.

Now the hard part comes, getting the show distributed to PBS stations across the nation. We can help. Click on the PBS link, find your local station or stations, call them up, and beg for “Growing a Greener World.” Theresa says we need to be persistent.

While I am all for getting what I want on PBS, you can still see episodes online here.

Well what a nice surprise to find this post in my inbox. Thanks so much for writing about this and I do agree, we don’t have enough quality programming on these days for gardeners and people interested in healthy outdoor living. It’s expensive to create and produce any TV show, but when you throw in big time travel, extra cameras, support staff and fees, fees, fees, I can see why there are so few new shows coming down the pike.
So yes, PLEASE contact your local public television station and let them know you want Growing a Greener World on your station. Lastly, please tell them it is distributed by American Public Television. That part is really important and adds a lot of clout.
