Dahlias darling, in pots!

I am not one to fill up the whole garden with fussy flowers, but a few striking dahlias planted in pots can make me look like I tried. I’ve got my eye on these ‘Happy Single Kiss’ dahlias from Proven Winners. With the apricot flowers bouncing against burgundy foliage, a single bulb looks sooo sophisticated. And dahlias are so darn easy.
Deadhead to keep the flowers coming. Feed with something organic once in a while. At the end of summer simply pluck the tubers out of their pots, wrap them in newspaper and give them a dry, dark dormancy in the tool shed.
