cabbage salad April 8, 2013

Cabbage, cabbage, cabbage

I think I know how the ancients felt when there was nothing but cabbage coming from the garden. Cabbage again?! they’d shout and throw down their hatchets and storm out of the hut.

Maybe they didn’t subscribe to the New York Times food section for this recipe: Apples, bacon and cabbage salad:

It’s a quickie with shredded cabbage, chopped walnuts, crisp bacon and thinly sliced green apples tossed with oil and vinegar, Dijon mustard, shallots and salt and pepper.

Thor! Your dinner is ready!
