artichoke flower June 29, 2010

Blog redirect Tuesday

So Vanessa Cardui over at “Am I Bugging You Yet?” has a pretty post up about bloomed-out artichokes. (copy and paste this into your browser http://bugyou.blogspot.com).

Artichoke tea is one the most unusual and delicious teas I’ve ever tasted. It’s made with the blossoms and other plant parts, but not sure how.

Scrolling further, she blogs about the free gnome give away at the Angel Stadium last month. Gnomes don’t change much - they were a no-show. Obviously Angel execs haven’t a clue how unpredictable they are.

Scrolling even further is a fun post about giant Crane Flies - you know those long-legged floppers that seem to float about in no particular direction?

Fun bug blog by the way, if you haven’t booked marked it, yet.

A favorite garden quote.  We’ve all thought or felt this but none have put it so simply…....

“How fair is a garden amid the trials and passions of existence.”

Re:  Artichoke tea.  The Vietnamese woman who does my nails tells me that in Vietnam, they cook the artichoke, throw out the artichoke, save the water and drink it.

She says it’s very good and healthful.  I’ve never tried being too much of a sissy.

It’s the most delish tea I’ve ever had….served to me by a Vietnamese man. Kind of a sweet-like flavor similar to the old Beechnut gum.
